This is really a MySQL question, But you need to GRANT the user you created permissions to use the MYSQL database. Use the root user to do the grant. see: http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Adding_users.html Get Paul Dubois' excellent book. MySQL Second Edition ( Sams Publishing). It's great!
