I've got a Compaq Deskpro 2000 (PPro/200) that has an Adaptec 1542
with a SCSI disk attached (the only disk in the system).
When I'm booting the 3.2-R CD from the (IDE) cdrom it works fine until
it's probing the SCSI bus:

Waiting 15 seconds for SCSI devices to settle

etc, etc
It seems to timeout on 1,5,2,4,3 too (the disc is target 0).
When sysinstall finally starts, it can't find any discs.
I've tried to terminate the bus with an external terminator, I've
fiddled with the adapter settings, inlcuding disabling the bios, but
nothing helps so far. The adapter has the default settings for
IRQ,DRQ, iomem, etc, which should be OK according to HARDWARE.TXT on
the CD.
Anyone has any more/better ideas on how to proceed? I'd be really
happy if I got this machine running :-)
