For what its worth, I just stole an fxp from an x86. I'm going to try to getting working, but I make no promises. I've just seen the interface lock under load. I need to setup another box with a second interface and an xover cable to test against as I do all my development over NFS & the fxp is not usable as primary interface. David: Is the fxp module unloadable, or will it crash the machine in strange and mysterious ways upon unload, like most of the network drivers do? Drew PS: Interesting trivia: Newer firmware supports booting over the fxp! >>>show conf API UP1000 598 MHz SRM Console: A5.6-4.1-9 PALcode: OpenVMS PALcode V1.69-54, Tru64 UNIX PALcode V1.62-1 Processors CPU 0 Alpha 21264A-8 598 MHz SROM Revision: V17.31 Bcache size: 2 MB Core Logic MEMORY Array # Size Base Addr ------- ---------- --------- 2 128 MB 000000000 Total Bad Pages = 0 Total Good Memory = 128 MBytes PCI Hose 00 Bus 00 Slot 01/0: 70071022 Bridge to Bus 2, PCI Bus 00 Slot 07: Acer Labs M1543C Bridge to Bus 1, ISA Bus 00 Slot 09: DE500-BA Network Controller ewa0.0.0.9.0 00-00-F8-07-B6-45 Bus 00 Slot 10: NCR 53C875 pka0.7.0.10.0 SCSI Bus ID 7 dka0.0.0.10.0 SEAGATE ST39140W Bus 00 Slot 11: Intel 8255x Ethernet eia0.0.0.11.0 00-A0-C9-8A-AC-AA <...> >>>show dev dka0.0.0.10.0 DKA0 SEAGATE ST39140W 1498 dqa0.0.0.16.0 DQA0 Maxtor 9 0651U2 FA520S60 dqb0.0.1.16.0 DQB0 CD-ROM C DU4011 UY0A dva0.0.0.0.0 DVA0 eia0.0.0.11.0 EIA0 00-A0-C9-8A-AC-AA ewa0.0.0.9.0 EWA0 00-00-F8-07-B6-45 pka0.7.0.10.0 PKA0 SCSI Bus ID 7 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
