Hello! today in my periodic(8) output I got another one of these scary messages from a server of mine (always the same, a Dell Poweredge 600 SC with FreeBSD 4.8-release). It's third message in a couple of weeks. I'm starting to worry about its health... :( Besides replacing the disk, what could I do in the meanwhile ? I'ld try tools like /usr/ports/sysutils/smartmontools but it works on 5.x only. Any suggestion for a good FreeBSD 4.x compatible SCSI SMART (S.M.A.R.T. ?) disk monitoring tools ? ANY hints is welcome! :-) Thanks in advance! ===8<==============Original message text=============== Checking setuid files and devices: Checking for uids of 0: root 0 toor 0 Checking for passwordless accounts: morgan.playstos.ldr kernel log messages: > (da0:ahc0:0:0:0): SCB 0x15 -
