I'd like the machine to be able to "speak" during certain events when screwing up the display or putting messages in syslog aren't really necessary -- like reporting who has just sent e-mail so I can either keep working or handle my mailbox right away (of course, maybe I'd have it report mail only from certain individuals so the damn machine wouldn't be jabbering constantly).
