My system needed one modification to /etc/rc.

I'm using the "amd" auto mounter with NIS maps 
and found that at the time "amd" gets started
the NIS binding doesn't succeed in time.

I've added an 

	ypwhich >/dev/null 2>&1

immediately after the "ypbind" command, and 
notice a few seconds of delay at that point.

This seems to be the only way to get amd 
working with NIS maps ...
