With a little hacking you can get it working now.
Get ftp://freebsd.cdrom.com/incoming/wcd11.tgz and follow the
instructions.

Eventually I would be willing to send you a precompiled kernel
when you send me your kernel CONFIG file (w/o the IDE CDROM).

put /usr/X11R6/bin into your path (.cshrc/.profile), rehash (if you're
running [t]csh), and type startx (provided you have gone through
a xf86config dialog or set up your /etc/XF86Config (/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/
XF86Config) otherwise.

If X works you may alternatively put /usr/X11R6/bin/xdm -daemon into
your /etc/rc.local and put your individual .xsession 
in your home-dir. (executable).
