Updating ld will be difficult. cc only requires `.weak' support in as. Perhaps ASM_WEAKEN_LABEL() could emit a stab instead of a `.weak' statement. I just deleted ASM_WEAKEN_LABEL() for 2.7.0. This may have broken the C++ feature that depends on weak symbols. Bruce
