I just added an SMC Etherpower PCI Ethernet card. When the system boots, it can probe the card. but can't read out the ethernet address. Is there anything special I need to do to set up PCI? Bios settings? The motherboard uses the ALI chipset. It has an award bios. The error message is: Jan 24 21:44:00 ovation /kernel: Probing for devices on the pci0 bus: Jan 24 21:44:00 ovation /kernel: configuration mode 2 allows 16 devices.
