Umm, it works fine for me using a Solaris 2.5 box and a FreeBSD 2.1.6.1
box.

Here is the rdump script from my FreeBSD box.
~root/bin/rdump0
/sbin/rdump 0usf 138600 rocky:/dev/rmt/0ubn /
/sbin/rdump 0usf 138600 rocky:/dev/rmt/0ubn /var
/sbin/rdump 0usf 138600 rocky:/dev/rmt/0ub /usr
