Just to expand for general consumption; this requires the (not yet committed) linux_lib 2.4 port (erich has a pre-release version of that in freefall:~erich, or you can wait until he commits it later today). StarOffice is _really_nice_. If you have been aching for a decent wordprocessor on your FreeBSD box, this is what you've been looking for. It's also available for Solaris, OS/2 and of course Win32. There is lots of noise about Caldera bundling it with their next OL distribution, and the license specifically encourages this. I've heard several people complain about it being slow; this isn't my experience. It takes _ages_ to start, but on my (heavily loaded) P100 at 24bpp it's still more than usefully responsive, and on an unloaded P166 I had a chance to test on (also at 24bpp) it screams. Someone might want to make some noise about this somewhere when Eric gets the updated linux_lib stuff in place. -- ]] Mike Smith, Software Engineer msmith@gsoft.com.au [[ ]] Genesis Software genesis@gsoft.com.au [[ ]] High-speed data acquisition and (GSM mobile) 0411-222-496 [[ ]] realtime instrument control.
