I don't see a specific mention of FreeBSD or Linux in Greg Lehey's book,
"Porting Unix Software" but chapter 15, "Terminal Drivers", pages 269
thru 306 should prove interesting reading.

Got my copy from http://www.bookpool.com, a little over $20. Can't 
hardly believe my note inside the cover, purchased 5/96. Seems like 
yesterday.
