I have installed Xfree86 3.3.2 on the FreeBSD 2.2.6 on Compaq Contura
430 C. I used the full graphical installation method, which I believe
is using VGA16 server. After everything set up, when trying to start
X, using startx, the screen goes blank, than the server died. It said
no valid mode found- I set it to use 640*480 - 8bpp. The graphic
controller is WD90C24 A2.
In the setting I put WD90C24 and VGA16 and Generic SVGA. It even still
doesn't work when I used the Config example from the distribution.
I'm new to BSD and X, and not having a great depth of knowledge on
clockchip, etc.
Please reply directly to me since I'm not in the mailing list.
Thank you.
