1) This isn't really a question for -stable; you should have sent this to
questions@freebsd.org.

2) I remember reading a question of this sort on Slashdot (a Linux site, I
know, but hang in there), and they say that if you stick to DVD-ROM (which
uses ISO 9660), you should be fine...

BUT: movie DVDs use their own format (UDF) that nothing seems to support
yet--except Windows. They also say "don't even think about Divx"--so for
now, you will probably be better off with getting a dedicated DVD player
box, or finding a WIndows machine to play the movies on.
