Hi all, I am running 2.2.5R with the stock X server version (can't remember what it is now) and the actual X server binary is: XF86_S3V However, vey frequently, the X server will just get killed and with the follwing logs: X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown). xterm: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) or KillClient on X server ":0.0" xinit: unexpected signal 1 Is anyone else seeing this problem ? This is annoying because I have to restart many of the process, and note I do not always start the same process so I don't put them all in .xinitrc file. The other problem is that sometimes after X starts up, I get a blank X screen with no window manager or other clients specified in .xinitrc file at all and I have to kill (ctrl-alt-backspace) that session and restart, but the next session will usually comes up with a frozen mouse pointer even though window manager and other X clients do start up properly. The only way out is to reboot the whole system before I can get it working, but sometime need a few reboot! Does any one have similar problem like this ? Should I go for the latest (which is ?) version of X server? Thanks in advance. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
