Hi, I see that various emacsen install lock directories in all sorts of different places. Can we merge them into one, or at least move them to a more standardized location? In particular, I hate the ones in /usr/local. (Writable directories in /usr/local?!?) Right now, we have emacs: /usr/local/com/emacs/lock mule: /usr/local/com/mule/lock xemacs: /var/run/xemacs/lock Is there a reason why they can't all share one directory? I don't know about xemacs, but emacs/mule just have PID's in there so they should be interchangable. If we can standardize them, I propose /var/run/emacs/lock.
