ppc must be a `net' device for plip to work properly.  See the plip
man page.  ppc must also be a `tty' device for lpt0 and a `cam' device
for vp0.  These requirements conflict.

lpt0 and lp0 have related bugs.  lpt0 needs to be a `net' device for
lp0 to work.  This can be configured by specifying that it is a `tty'
device and statically configuring slip.

The slip LKM has related bugs.
