I need to be able to mount floppies and CDs from a general user account (non-root). I found a mail in the archives stating that mount_msdos was setuid, because it was likely to be used by non-admins, but my -stable mount_msdos isn't setuid. As a test I setuid on it and mount_cd9660, and mount as well. The mount points all exist; /A, /B, /cd0 and I can easily mount them as root. I have entries for them in /etc/fstab, so I can shorten the command to: mount /A or mount /B or mount /cd0 All it says is: msdos: /dev/fd0: Operation not permitted Any ideas ?? /----------------------------------Signature----------------------------------/ Steve Friedrich Unix systems measure "uptime" in years, Winblows measures it in minutes.
