Greg Lehey's vinum code has support for a Raid5 module, however the module is currently only available from the sponsor of the work. > The reason I bring this up now is that I was poking around > the NetBSD web pages tonight and I noticed that they've > had it in their -CURRENT for over a month, using the CMU > RAIDframe code. (Yes, it's only a month.) Yup. There was some discussion of this a little while back. > http://www.cs.usask.ca/staff/oster/raid.html > > How hard would it be for someone to port it to FreeBSD? It would be nice, if when they ported it, they didn't butcher it quite like the NetBSD integrator did. I took the NetBSD code and the original to see what the changes they made were; there's far too much noise to be able to work easily with the diffs. Terry also posted some diffs that he produced a while back to make RaidFrame build under FreeBSD. > Is someone already working on this? Or maybe someone will > volunteer now? I was sort of hoping that this might have been you volunteering...
