Hi !

If I want to produce a debugging kernel the good handbook
tells me to do something like this:
	config -g kconfigfile
	cd ../../compile/kconfigfile
	make depend all
	cp kernel kernel.debug
	strip -d kernel
	make install

The -d option vanished in an ELF world ... What method is
preferred now to get rid of debugging stuff, but still be able
to boot the kernel ?!

What gives you 90% more speed, for example, in kernel compilation ?
