Because of a reply from Juergen Haecker to mailing I have now a working PPP setup. Against the first impression the address negotiation works. I didn't try to change the default route to the new configured interface, because of the output form ifconfig and because of the isdnd log output. isp2: flags=2815<UP,DEBUG,POINTOPOINT,SIMPLEX,LINK1> mtu 1500 inet 0.0.0.0 --> 0.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 Feb 5 01:41:41 brahms /kernel: isp2: ipcp parse opt values: address 0.0.0.1 [ack] send conf-ack Feb 5 01:41:41 brahms /kernel: isp2: ipcp output <conf-ack id=0x4 len=10 03-06-82-95-91-02> Feb 5 01:41:41 brahms /kernel: isp2: ipcp input(ack-sent): <conf-ack id=0x30 len=10 03-06-82-95-91-26> I think both should be changed. I further think Gary should mention in the FAQ in the section "B. How to figure out the ISP's IP address that it isn't normaly necessary to do it because of the auto address negotiation.
