Subject:   No audio with FreeBSD3.0-R

I have been trying for some time to get audio working. I provide the info
below. I followed the directions in (4)pcm to the letter, but looking at
ls-l /dev/audio*, it looks like the links are backwards. I did all the 'rm
... audio...' again, and the links came back the same. Anyway, no .wav or
.au sound nor does xcd work. Any ideas? Thanks,
