Ok, things to check:

You have a valid domain (well, duh)
Your DNS server is set up correctly with an address pointing to the server with 
a MX (Mail Exchanger) entry, examples below:

        IN      MX      10      mail.montereyhigh.com.
        IN      A       205.155.37.87       

Sendmail is running.

That\'s all I can think of at this moment...
