Oh! I've been blaming my ncr SCSI card! (Well, the driver for it, at least.) I'm sure everyone complaining about not being able to read defects lists is using an ncr based card. I've got some non-ibm disks I can temporarily hook up. I'll try them too. And I'll try an aha-1540 too just for kicks. Stephen.
