Folks, Over the past couple of months, intrigued by the voluminous output of "sysctl -a", I've been digging through man pages and mailing list archives looking for clues as to what each of these little buggers means. It's become apparent that I will never keep up, and that some of them I am completely unqualified to understand, let alone explain. So, I'm attempting to set up a web page to act as a repository of sysctl MIB information. I have this nice server out on the Net; it's probably time I do something more than run my personal email off of it. ;) Before I go and convert all my notes to HTML, I would appreciate any and all feedback on the structure I'm using. I'd hate to enter this mess of pottage, and then have someone say "You know, a field X for each MIB would be useful." Eventually, I'd like to set up a submission system where people can send in MIB documentation, and corrections to existing docs. I've put up my (very!) rough design, and a couple of sample MIBs, at http://www.blackhelicopters.org/~dispatch/sysctl/miblist.html Any feedback is welcome. I'll probably start entering what I have this weekend. ==ml To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
