FWIW, up until a few months ago (when this first cropped up as part of the Handbook conversion) I was a die-hard 1 space user. If you know that there are no translations *at all* then I wouldn't bother with the separate two stage commit. But it's worth posting here first to ask, just in case someone's got a translation that they're working on that they haven't announced yet.
