FTP install installs from a ``make release'', which invokes ``make readmes'' at one point or another. Almost all "normal" methods of installing involve installing README.html files. > Again, I have to wonder what the frequency of doing things one > way versus doing things the other is likely to be. For most people, these files take too long to generate and don't provide that much useful information, especially since any information they need can be found through ``make search key'' or at http://www.FreeBSD.org/ports/. If you want to provide a mechanism in ports/Makefile to let people specify they want their README.html files updated when they use ``make update'', feel free to submit patches. -- Will Andrews <andrewsw@purdue.edu> <will@FreeBSD.org> GCS/E/S @d- s+:+>+:- a--->+++ C++ UB++++ P+ L- E--- W+++ !N !o ?K w--- ?O M+ V-- PS+ PE++ Y+ PGP+>+++ t++ 5 X++ R+ tv+ b++>++++ DI+++ D+ G++>+++ e->++++ h! r-->+++ y?
