I am sorry for the delay of my response; too much to do ... Trevor, I make'd and installed your port. Without any problems. Did not examine the differences between our ports in detail. I tried to use xwave2 and encountered some differences to the basic xwave 0.6, as ported by myself: 1. The divided recording level meter (short and long time averages) in xwave2 is certainly an advantage over xwave 0.6. 2. There seems to be an error in xwave2, drawing the signal levels of a loaded piece of music, wether the sound file was recorded freshly or loaded from a wav file: the signal level is the maximum level almost over all the time, so I get more or less a red and a blue rectangle. Seems to bee only a problem of the drawing; there is no difference between 0.6 and 2 while playing this piece of sound. 3. While recording, in xwave2 there seems to be an error in the continuous display of recorded time and disk space; some numeric / data type error: the figures skip many times from positive to negative numbers; their values seems to be of few worth. xwave 0.6 reports correct time and space all the time. Did not check any other features of xwave 2. At this time and today's state of xwave 2, it is my suggestion, that we commit at least a port of the original xwave 0.6. Would the port presented by myself (port/18779) be ok for xwave 0.6? Thanks Martin Kraft To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
