Solaris I know for a fact supports a ~/.termcap (indirectly) and terminfo databases. Its how I used to admin 30+ Solaris boxes from my happy freebsd workstation. Crop the cons25|* entries youd like and tic them on the machine as needed. Can do the same with xterm-color.
