Not unless someone submits a diff or the maintainer has some extra time
on his hands to make it work under FreeBSD. I've heard a few reports
that 5.2 was a major PITA to get working.

What sort of hints? Do what the port tells you once you run make, or
make your life simple, go to the Sun web site
(http://www.sun.com/products/staroffice/5.1/get.html), download the
language you want, stick it in /usr/ports distfiles, and run make. It's
really not all that hard -- just watch what port spews when you try to
make it.
