greetings, and thanks in advance, I searched various sources including the handbook for my newbie question...
anyway I was setting up X windows, and none of the VT were unused except for ttyv8 (for which previously there were no settings at all nor do I have access for it)

ttyv3 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" cons25 on secure
ttyv4 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" cons25 on secure
ttyv5 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" cons25 on secure
ttyv6 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" cons25 on secure
ttyv7 "/usr/libexec/getty Pc" cons25 on secure
ttyv8 "/usr/X11R6/bin/xdm -nodaemon" xterm off secure
- how do I go about turning OFF any on parameters in the ttyv1-7, so that I may use X. and do I need to make these changes in /dev/ttys and /etc/ttys
