Hi, I'm one of the developers of SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy; http://www.mostang.com/sane/). I have looked at the patches in the FreeBSD ports for SANE and have some comments/questions. But first some general information: If you have comments/questions about SANE you can contact me directly. It's also possible to reach the sane mailing list (sane-devel@mostang.com) directly but you must be subscribed to this list with the same address from which the article is sent. The next SANE release (1.0.4) will be in about 3 weeks. The SANE package will be split in two packages: sane (for the libraries, net support and scanimage) and sane-frontends (for the X-frontends xscanimage and xcam). Concerning the patches: patch-ab (O_SYNC is non-POSIX): is fixed in 1.0.4 patch-ac (libsane.la is not installed correctly): is fixed in 1.0.4 patch-ae (missing DBG_INIT and implementation of sanei_scsi_find_devices): The DBG_INIT is fixed in 1.0.4. Concerning the rest of the patch: I would like to add it to SANE for 1.0.5. Is this possible (SANE is GPL, I don't know the licence of the patches in ports)? patch-af (support new gimp): fixed in 1.0.4 Bye, Henning Meier-Geinitz To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
