I have just reinstalled 4-STABLE on what was a 4.4 system. I saved all the old files, and now I am trying to merge in the users. When I go inot vipw, and read in the appropriate lines from the old passwd file, I get an error when I exit vi. Heres what I am getting: pwd_mkdb: corrupted entry pwd_mkdb: at line #19 pwd_mkdb: /etc/pw.330Vd9 Inappropriate file type or format. What am I doing wrong here? I need to get these suers back in with the same UID/GID's, so I can easily restore there home directries. -- Stan Brown stanb@awod.com 843-745-3154 Charleston SC. -- Windows 98: n. useless extension to a minor patch release for 32-bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16-bit patch to an 8-bit operating system originally coded for a 4-bit microprocessor, written by a 2-bit company that can't stand for 1 bit of competition. - (c) 2000 Stan Brown.
