While you're at this, would you mind looking at PR kern/21156,
too?  It's about scmouse mangling / damaging data in copy'n'paste
operations and has a fix in it.  It's just that yokota is too
busy to apply the patch although he confirmed it to be a valid
solution (at least for two of the three discussed items).

The patch has been running here since early September on every
machine I get my hands on (one rather quickly and most of all
constandly notices the broken behaviour when coming from other
platforms) and brings back expected behaviour for those of us to
work on syscons terminals while facilitating the mouse clipboard.
I'm aware it's too late for 4.3-R, but we could at least make the
next release work correctly ...
