There was an announcement some time back that FreeBSD would be a supported GNOME platform, ie a release would ship only if it compiled and ran properly on FreeBSD: http://daily.daemonnews.org/view_story.php3?story_id=1730 A little later, GNOME 1.4 was released: http://news.gnome.org/gnome-news/986330555/index_html To date, it doesn't seem to have appeared among the FreeBSD ports. What's the reason? Is it because it doesn't work on FreeBSD, or it's not good enough yet? Actually, it seems that Ximian haven't upgraded to 1.4 yet, either. Thanks Rahul.
