You're playing in a cross environment.  Some terms:

    target    - machine you are generating output for
    host      - the machine you are running the toolchain on to generate
                output for the target.
    buildhost - machine you built the host's toolchain on.

Where target != host != buildhost you have a "Candian Cross environment".
Where target != (host == buildhost) you have a "normal" cross environment.
