Yes, but we don't use gcc-only flags in the Makefiles anywhere else in the project unless there's a compelling reason to do so. In the past, "just getting warnings" hasn't been a compelling reason. We do have them in the .mk files, but that's a different matter since one could, in theory, provide support for different compilers by just changing the .mk files.
