I can confirm what Marc said that the following works
 2001.07.08.23.59.59
and that the following fails to recognise the 3com
 2001.07.10.23.59.59

To narrow things down, and I found that
 2001.07.09.23.59.59
 2001.07.10.08.59.59
fail to build with an error about selp in slot.h for pcic_isa.c
But the following both builds and works with the 3com
 2001.07.09.16.59.59

I was able to narrow this down by only 17 hours in the time I had
to play with this tonight.

The computer I have has only a single pccard slot (externally anyway) and
no serial port (at least no external serial port) and an unsupported
winmodem and any empty mini-PCI slot, therefore there is no reasonable
way for me to volunteer my computer for remote testing of the 3com card.
Luckily Marc has already volunteered his.

If there is anything more I can do to help, feel free to ask.
