Could you build tcsh from /usr/src with -g (and make sure not to strip
the binary when you install it).  Then use gdb on the resulting core
dump?  If you don't use GDB much, the output of the "where" command is
the first thing of interest.

I am afraid, this would just cause people to forget about the problem
rather than to continue pursuing the problem.
