Couple of things: 1) Use a topic when you post to the list.

I recently wanted DCC (Irssi) and passive FTP mode (ProFTPD) to work on my FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE box. Thus, I added an entry for the IANA-registered ephemeral port range (49152-65535), as well as setting the PassivePorts directive in ProFTPD to match.

You said that you have a NAT based connection, but then said you
aren't running NATD. Also, I may just be tired, but I don't see your
question. Is something not working for you? I admin a site that is
run off of a residental DSL, and has a combination of static ip
servers and dynamic 10.0.0.0 range workstations. If you describe your
set up in a bit more detail and explain what isn't working right I am
sure we can get it sorted out.
