Hi, FreeBSD runs pretty well on my Thinkpad T20 (details can be found at <http://mailbox.univie.ac.at/~le/thinkpad/>), but I still have some questions: *) can I get the "hotswap" feature of DVD drive and floppy drive to work without having to reboot each time I want to change drives? (I get all kind of error messages from "Device not configured" to "Device busy" and system deadlocks and even kernel panics when I try to switch drives when the system is running.) *) can I get the DVD drive to run in DMA mode? Currently it only runs in PIO mode. *) I guess noone has tried to write an IrDA stack yet, so I can't use the Infrared port? *) the ltmdm driver for the built-in winmodem works quite well, but I get a nice kernel panic a few seconds after unloading the kernel module. Has anyone of you made the same experience? regards, le --=20 Lukas Ertl eMail: l.ertl@univie.ac.at UNIX-Systemadministrator Tel.: (+43 1) 4277-14073 Zentraler Informatikdienst (ZID) Fax.: (+43 1) 4277-9140 der Universit=E4t Wien http://mailbox.univie.ac.at/~le/ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
