How is this iso created ? I'd be interested to know if something like
mkisofs supports it and what the method is called.

Works just fine on;

System Board P5BV+/3 rev. B+
Intel        SE440BX-2
MSI          694D Pro-@IR Dual (VIA 694X based)
Sony         F430 laptop
ABit         BF6v2
Adaptec      AHA-3940UW in an ABit KA7.

Which is all the machines I can get my hands on right now.
