What about whenever a ports define
AUTO*_VER=someversion
apropriate links are made into
${WRKDIR}/auto_hack/{share,bin}
and {CONFIGURE,MAKE}_ENV+=PATH=${WRKDIR}/auto_hack/{share,bin}:${PATH}
