It is possible to use newsyslog for what you're doing, have something like: /var/log/httpd-access.log 644 5 * $W6D0 Z /var/log/httpd-error.log 644 5 * $W6D0 Z /var/run/http.pid You only need the http.pid entry on the last line so that newsyslog will only send the HUP once to apache once the logs have been rotated. -- Jonathan Chen <jonc@chen.org.nz> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Do not take life too seriously.
