It is stupid to repeat that folly. We HAVE termcap library. Implementation
details doesn't matter. F.e. if termcap library will be included into
libc, your next move will be just remove it from Makefiles, breaking
bulding at the systems with valid API.

It seems you know nothing about termcap and curses libraries.
General curses library may not support termcap functions at all, f.e.=20
terminfo-based libary. Any termcap application will fails linking with=20
that.
