Hei! Sorry, this was an encrypted DVD. I assumed it was unlocked, because it was mountable. I had no problems to extract the film with my little css-cat perl script. I have no problems watching DVDs with my Toshiba drive. It works both on my pc and my asus laptop ... I tried mplayer(cvs) and ogle(port). I have only problems with cdrdao+ata. cdda2wav works fine. dd is also working with data cds. Setting my Toshiba drive to PIO-Mode didn't solved anything. hw.ata.tags are disabled.
