For lack of a better list: I'm trying to use the net/wakeonlan port to remotely switch on a machine that is equipped with a 3COM 3C905C-TX PCI 10/100 card. WOL is enabled in the BIOS, I tried this on an ASUS and on an ECS mainboard, I sent the wakeonlan packet from different machines, ethereal sees a packet which appears to follow the magic packet standard. The card's LEDs say lit, and flicker when the packet arrives. But the endresult: the machines simply ignore it. This is my first ever WOL attempt, and I'm stumped. Suggestions? tia, Wilko -- | / o / /_ _ wilko@FreeBSD.org |/|/ / / /( (_) Bulte Arnhem, the Netherlands To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
