If memory serves me right, "Mike Grissom" wrote: > About what time is the release going to be uploaded and officially released? Soon. Please be patient. :-) The src/ tree has been tagged, but final builds take some time and there's usually a very quick round of testing that the head release engineer does at this point. Then the images need to be uploaded to ftp-master, and our policy is only make the release announcement after at least a handful of mirrors have acknowledged receiving the distribution. Based on what I know of our status, I'd say it'll take about a day or so assuming no last-minute hiccups. Bruce. PS. OT note: Slashdot jumped the gun (again) and posted a false story about 4.6 being released. It boggles the mind that they couldn't take the time to verify this; a glance at the FreeBSD main Web page or a quick email is all it takes. What's even more unbelievable is that they've done this for two consecutive FreeBSD releases. Sigh.
