My internet connection at work is much faster than at home, so I thought I'd download the sources and burn a CD. However, this is what happened: > : jolap$/usr/ports/x11/gnome2; make fetch-recursive > ===> Fetching all distfiles for gnome2-2.0_3 and dependencies > gnomecore was detected on the system. This package is part of the GNOME > 1.x desktop, and cannot coexist with the GNOME 2.0 desktop. > > Please deinstall the GNOME 1.x desktop before installing this package. > gnomeapplets was detected on the system. This package is part of the > GNOME 1.x desktop, and cannot coexist with the GNOME 2.0 desktop. > > Please deinstall the GNOME 1.x desktop before installing this package. > gnomemedia was detected on the system. This package is part of the > GNOME 1.x desktop, and cannot coexist with the GNOME 2.0 desktop. > > Please deinstall the GNOME 1.x desktop before installing this package. > gnomeutils was detected on the system. This package is part of the > GNOME 1.x desktop, and cannot coexist with the GNOME 2.0 desktop. > > Please deinstall the GNOME 1.x desktop before installing this package. > gtop was detected on the system. This package is part of the GNOME 1.x > desktop, and cannot coexist with the GNOME 2.0 desktop. > > Please deinstall the GNOME 1.x desktop before installing this package. ... and so forth.
