This list, the -newbies list, and a number of other sites such as http://www.onlamp.com/bsd/ are very good resources. It's also recommended that you read the Handbook and FAQ available on this web site before asking on the list, and Google/Google Groups can be very helpful as well. The very best thing is if you happen to have a friend who knows more Unix or Linux than you do and is willing to help. Go for it and come back if/when you have questions. It's helpful to identify yourself as a newbie so that people posting answers may take time to explain things a little more thoroughly. Jud P.S.
